Description
The study found that the Data Privacy Sub-Group (DPS) has developed the necessary framework for a Cross-Border Privacy Rules (CBPR) system in the APEC region, further implementing the APEC Data Privacy Framework. This initiative will help to ensure that businesses and consumers can reap the full benefits associated with a secure data network, including an increase in electronic commerce activities. The successful efforts of the DPS to build capacity among the member economies also ensures that there is a common approach to data privacy across the APEC region.
