Information, communication and technology (ICT) is expected to be an efficient means to narrow the gaps and disparities among regions to attain inclusive and sustainable growth. It has been reflected in APEC work through the launch and implementation of the APEC Internet and Digital Economy Roadmap and the Cross-Border E-Commerce Facilitation Framework, which aims to enhancing inclusivity, connectivity and sustainability through focusing on “bridging the digital divide, building up digital capacity and competencies for all, and creating an environment to foster the digital economy”.

The project provides the platform for APEC participants to share experiences and discuss on how to promote ICT for the sake of sustainable economic growth and development in remote areas.
