The 2009 APEC Economic Policy Report focuses on regulatory reform.
The first chapter outlines the link between regulatory and structural reform, the broad principles that drive regulatory reform and the key elements of a good regulatory reform framework.
The ability to demonstrate tangible progress is important in maintaining the momentum for successful regulatory reforms. The second chapter therefore focuses on the measurement of regulatory reform outcomes and their impact on economic performance. Annexes to the chapter detail how APEC member economies rank according to international benchmarking indicators.
The third chapter, and the annexes to it, provide detailed information on the regulatory reform processes in individual APEC economies, with the purpose of identifying and sharing good practices.
