The services sector is an important sector in many APEC economies. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck in 2020 and as economies scrambled to contain the virus, services trade was impacted more negatively than merchandise trade. Three years on, as APEC economies emerge from the pandemic and reconnect, it would be beneficial to take stock of where services trade now stand and to identify barriers to its increased trade in the region. This report monitored the recovery of travel, transport (including logistics-related services) and other business services sectors as part of the reporting process under the APEC Services Competitiveness Roadmap (ASCR).
