The APEC Workshop on the Latest Plastic Recycling Technologies and Policy Applications was successfully held on 4 August 2025, organized under the APEC Chemical Dialogue (CD) framework and supported by the APEC Structural Reform and Sustainable Green Growth Sub-Fund (SRSGG).

The event was hosted by the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS), with co-sponsorship from Indonesia and Japan. It convened policymakers, regulators, and industry experts from across the Asia-Pacific region. Participants shared insights into cutting-edge recycling technologies and best practices in policy design. Crucially, the program focused on reducing plastic waste at the source, in addition to management, promoting sustainable growth and climate resilience in line with the APEC Putrajaya Vision 2040 and the Aotearoa Plan of Action. The workshop is expected to foster long-term cooperation and capacity building.
