This document presents the Best Practices on the Quality of Information in WTO SPS Notifications, developed as an outcome of the CTI Public–Private Dialogue (PPD) on the Follow-up Initiative on Promoting Transparency, held on 02 and 03 August 2025 in Incheon, Republic of Korea.

The objective of these Best Practices is to provide practical, voluntary, and non-binding guidance to APEC economies to improve the clarity, completeness, and consistency of information submitted in WTO SPS notifications. Based on the findings of the Follow-up Study, inputs from APEC member economies, and discussions held during the PPD, the Best Practices focus on three key areas: “Products covered,” “Description of content,” and “Capacity building and collaboration.”

These recommendations aim to support APEC economies in strengthening transparency practices and to contribute to ongoing regional and multilateral work on improving the quality of SPS notifications.
