This report outlines APEC’s past initiatives on investment including Non-Binding Investment Principles (NBIP), Investment Facilitation Action Plan (IFAP) and APEC investment strategy. It also presents the results summary of studies in relation to the roles and characteristics of Global Value Chains (GVCs) in East Asia and Southeast Asia, cooperation between investing companies and local communities, identification of critical factors for private companies or sectors in making investment, and roles of public sector including foreign investment promotion activities.
