The promotion of efficient LED lighting is a key energy efficiency strategy for meeting the APEC Leaders’ target to reduce aggregate energy intensity by 45 per cent by 2035, increasing the competitiveness and energy security of APEC economies, and reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the commercial and public sectors. This project aimed to build regional capacity to ensure that high-quality and high-efficiency lighting products are easily identified during procurement activities by reviewing current lighting Qualified Product Lists (QPLs) and successful frameworks of implementation; current testing and standards requirements for QPL eligibility; and opportunities for APEC economies to develop common regional QPLs for these lighting products.

This summary report highlights the outcomes of the workshop conducted under the project.
