This report summarizes the results of the APEC Workshop on Improving Electric Grid Resilience to Natural Disasters. The workshop included discussion of energy security and resilience analysis and design for communities, and an example resilience analysis by participants for a small community consisting of about 20,000 people. The workshop allowed APEC economies to exchange experience on evaluating and planning for natural disaster risks to power systems and communities and how smart grid, advanced microgrid, and distributed and renewable energy generation technologies can enhance grid resiliency. The report includes both course and work book training materials.
