This report summarizes the highlights of the workshop, The Role of Standardization in Promoting Employment Related to the Silver Economy, held in Beijing, China in September 2019. The discussion centered around the importance and need for standards in employment-related areas of silver economies. It covers the role of new and emerging technologies, the increasing need to consider the labor force participation of older workers, and the importance of the use of standards for global consistency.
