The APEC Gender Equality Budgeting Toolkit is a guide that governments can use on a voluntary basis to strengthen budgeting practices to achieve gender equality. It shares principles for gender equality budgeting based on best practice examples and diversity of experiences across APEC member economies. 
The principles outlined in this toolkit are:
This toolkit is intended to support governments to self-assess their progress and capacity for gender equality budgeting. Governments can apply the toolkit principles in a way that builds on the strengths of their existing budget framework and enhances existing capabilities.
